HOW TO GET AN INSTANT GLOW THIS SPRING

THE ANSWER IS DERMAPLANING!

There is quite a buzz in the media at the moment about the new popular beauty treatment Dermaplaning. If you have not heard of it yet then quite simply it’s a deep exfoliation treatment for the face.
It has actually been practiced by dermatologists and plastic surgeons for around 40 years, so it’s not so new after all! It was originally performed as an alternative to chemical exfoliation and later to prepare the skin for resurfacing treatments and deeper chemical peels but has become exceedingly popular in the last couple of years.

So what is Dermaplaning?

It is a safe and highly effective exfoliation procedure for the face. It’s carried out using a sterile surgical scalpel to gently scrape the skins surface removing the outer most layers as well as all the ‘peach fuzz’ vellus hair. This will leave the skin silky smooth with an instant glow.

How does it work?

It’s a similar procedure to microdermabrasion in the fact that it removes all the surface dead dry skin cells. By exfoliating the skin, we are triggering cell regeneration, so your skincare products have better chance of absorption into the skin. The skin is greatly improved as all the vellus hair is removed which can often accumulate dirt and oil.

Will my hair grow back thicker?

NO!! Dermplaning is simply removing the hair at the skins surface. It will grow back and return to normal around 3-4 weeks.

Can I have this treatment if I am pregnant or breast feeding?

Absolutely! It’s the safest way to exfoliate if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It lifts the dead skins cells to take your complexion from dull to radiant.

Is Dermaplaning suitable for my skin type?

Whilst its suitable for most skin types I wouldn’t be advising it for an oily or acne skin, reason being is that the oils need to travel up and connect with the vellus hair and if that hair is removed then the oils tend to stay below and mix with bacteria so making the skin even more oily.

All in all Dermplaning is a fantastic exfoliation treatment for the majority of skin types and is becoming increasing popular with all ages so why not book your appointment today.
