Sandali Jayasena

Masters of Osteopathy

Registered Osteopath

Sandali’s expertise in treating musculoskeletal conditions stemmed from her medical education at the University College of Osteopathy, London. Having graduated with a Master’s, she is a registered clinician with the General Osteopathic Council (GOsC) and a member of the Institute of Osteopathy.

Her extensive training and experience ranges from a variety of work-related/sports injuries seen in general practice, to specialist clinics such as paediatrics, pregnancy aches/post-natal care, and treating HIV patients at The Royal Free Hospital, Hampstead.
As a musician herself, Sandali noticed many performing artists around her grappling with constant injury which led to her thesis research and further study with the British Association of Performing Arts Medicine to effectively work with returning to harmony.

A warm, patient-centred, holistic approach is integral to Sandali’s evidence-based, structural clinical management. Considering all bodily systems in diagnosis and psychosocial lifestyle factors in order to see you wholly in your reality and body. She places importance on exploring the root cause to collaboratively form a personalised, meaningful management plan that best suits you.

Sandali makes strong use of her skill in hands-on manual therapy techniques of joints and soft tissue including mobilisation, neuromuscular, myofascial, and lymphatic drainage, as well as rehabilitation exercise therapy, mindfulness-based movement training and engaging breathwork/meditation. She finds self-management lifestyle advice key to guide you to understand and attune to your body. This includes prevention strategies and pain management in order to sustain optimal, integrated health.

She is especially passionate about mind-body medicine. Having seen the neurobiological impact of stress, emotions and mental health on many patients & loved ones around her, she sought to further her understanding and treatment in this specialism of trauma-informed somatic work, particularly the management of chronic and persistent pain. So is currently completing her postgraduate training as a Practitioner of the Psychophysiological Disorders Association. Her eyes are set on the Institute of Functional Medicine after.

Outside of clinic, Sandali delivers workshops mainly on women’s health (endometriosis, pregnancy, LGBT health). She meditates regularly as part of her Buddhist practice since childhood, trains in Kung Fu regularly, and is usually found reading poetry, playing music or dancing to it.
