Fiona Hurlock
Acupuncturist, DIP.AC MRSS
Fiona practices Japanese Acupuncture and Moxibustion as a means to promote the treatment of disease and for the maintenance of health. She has studied extensively in the UK, Europe and Japan, and undertaken specialist courses in musculo-skeletal issues, obstetric acupuncture and women’s gynecological issues. Her clinical experience includes working in the Pain Clinic at the NHS Whittington Hospital in North London treating musculoskeletal problems, with immune related disorders for the Complementary Health Trust, and with the CNWL NHS Women’s Service for drug and alcohol addiction. She also works for the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC), the main regulators of complementary medicine in the UK.
Her practice of Japanese Acupuncture uses a very gentle approach of painless needling and shiatsu bodywork in order to promote relaxation and receptivity. Her experience has shown her that the more relaxed a person is, the more receptive they are to treatment. Her treatments are supportive and nurturing at a very deep level aiming to encourage the body to return to its own natural state of wellness and wholeness.
Fiona is now offering the Micro Acupuncture 48 protocal as part of an integrated approach for the treatment of a variety of eye conditions including macular degeneration, retinitis pigmentosa, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and other eye disorders.
Active participation in your own treatment plan can really accelerate healing and where appropriate Fiona provides homework for you to carry out in between treatments. This may include dietary changes, exercises and stretching or using moxa on particular acupuncture points to stimulate the flow of Blood & Ki.
